Our Carers are our greatest asset. By recruiting quality people and carefully matching the Carer's personality and competency with the Client's personality and health needs we can ensure both Carers and Clients are satisfied with the relationship.
EFM aims to ensure that all Carers are in possession of the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to perform their jobs to the highest standard and to feel valued by our company. As a result our Carers stay with EFM and therefore stay with their Clients to enhance the relationship.
Below is a sample of EFM Carers. Read about their motivation, experience and interests.

I strongly support the possibility of the elderly staying as long as possible in their own homes. My parents both stayed at home their entire lives.
I have been with EFM since 2003. I work with a broad range of clients with a wide array of age related disabilities and have vast experience including the NZQA level 4 dementia certificate.
My interests include music, reading, gardening, movies, theatre, concerts, exhibitions, walking, family, friends, travel and pottery. |

I enjoy working for EFM as it is community based and gives me flexibility around the hours of work. My time working for EFM has been hugely rewarding. I have loved the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the elderly clients. I also appreciate the ongoing training sessions offered by EFM.
Other than spending time with my family and friends I enjoy photography, cooking, sewing, gardening and walking our dog. |

I particularly enjoy working with people with dementia. I have an NZQA level 4 dementia qualification and for 10 years I directed a work skills training centre tutoring care-givers and diversional therapists to support people living with dementia.
It is a privilege to empower clients to live as independent, active and fulfilling lives as they can and I find my work as an EFM care-giver enormously rewarding.
My interests include classical music, ballet, yoga and spending quality time with family and friends. |

Although I have worked with EFM for 11 years I continually seek to develop and recently completed the level 4 qualification in dementia care and training in palliative care.
My interests include house renovation, reading, gardening, art, music, and movies. |

I have been with EFM since 2004. I really love spending time with older people and sharing in their lives and helping them make life easier in their later years.
Family is the most important thing in my life, so if I can help bridge the gap in an elderly persons life when their own family is unavailable, it makes my job very fulfilling.
Out of work I play competition tennis, walk my dog and spend as much time with family and grandchildren as distance allows. |

Maria
I have worked for many years as an Occupational Therapist is a range of contexts. I joined EFM because I believe in helping people to help themselves to maintain independence, I wanted to be self employed, and I had previous experience at providing support at home.

I joined EFM because of their philosophy and focus on dementia care and because the flexibility works well with my nursing studies and applying my learning with EFM clients.
I fill my spare time with doing arts and crafts, being in the great outdoors and socializing with friends. |
